PETRA KOPRIVEC

 

Petra is a concert pianist, teacher and a composer, who started playing piano at the age of three. She is presenting herself as a solo pianist, chamber music player and as a soloist with established symphony orchestras such as National Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra of Slovenia and Danube Symphony Orchestra in Budapest. 

Petra is a prize winner of national piano competitions, a Gallus protégée and a protégée of AS foundation, a winner of scholarship for specially talented musicians in Velenje, Slovenia for five years in a row, from 2010 till 2014 and a prize winner of “Prešernova” award. 

 

She mastered her skills at three conservatories of Music: Franc Liszt Academy in Budapest with Dr. Laszlo Baranyay, Conservatory of Music in Ljubljana with Dubravka Tomšič – Srebotnjak and Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels studying with world known pianist Alexandar Madzar brought her two master degrees with honours (2013) and distinction (2016).

 

 

Petra has also been collaborating with other projects and musicians such as Kaneo Quartet, Terrafolk and Symbolic Orchestra. She is composing music for acting/dance performances. In 2017 she established a sextet called Luminarte - presenting her own compositions and musical arrangements, and this year - her very own Jazz quartet.
